Is a military duffel bag considered over-sized luggage?

I’ve used my standard military duffel for deployments in the past, but was considering using it for leisure travel because it’s light and can hold more than a standard suitcase (I’m trying to avoid the extra fees for a second checked bag). I know the checked baggage allowance is 62 linear inches. Will I end up paying over-sized baggage fees if I check it?
Luggage Backpack With Wheels
I bought a suitcase with a missing wheel. Any way I can replace the wheel myself?

I went to a deep discount store, and stupidly bought a suitcase that is missing a wheel.
How can I repair or replace the wheel. Are there stores that sell replacement wheels? Are there websites that can show me how to do this?
Please help. I can’t get a refund and I really like the suitcase.

As many of you already know that there are plenty of suitcase types and designs available to choose from, and each of them certainly has advantages and disadvantages, so you have to learn a bit more about them in order to choose properly. It is not only for you to choose the best one that you can afford, but also you have to consider many elements of each of them elaborately, so you need to identify your need first whether you want suitcase that made from the material which is hard, soft or kind of semi-soft material.
The first type that we are going to know is called Pullmans. They are large suitcases that generally have variety of sizes. The most common type of Pullmans available range in size from two to three feet of each side. Due to their large side, this kind of suitcase usually equipped with roller wheels in order for users to move or transport them easily.
However, using large suitcase have both pros and cons it may have disadvantage in terms of size and weight which could be heavy, but in the same time it is proved that large suitcase also provides the most protection of your belongings during the bag or suitcase is being transported. Meanwhile softer suitcase provides more flexibility in terms of it can contain stuff a bit more than its capacity. There is a type of soft suitcase called semi-soft suitcase, which has a large size same as hard suitcase but provide more flexibility than the hard case ones. Even though semi-soft type may have less protection if compare to hard suitcase but they still have more protection than soft suitcases. This type of bag sometime is more convenient than the completely hard suitcase ones because sometimes hard suitcase could not be carried onto the plane and has to be checked by officer.
In general use, most of people tend not to pack their suit or dress that likely to wrinkle into suitcase. There is a specific type of bag that designed specially for this purpose and it’s called garment bag. Garment bag usually come with a hanger on the top and you will be able to hang it anywhere as you need, but more importantly, garment bag can maintain the shape of your suit and dresses not to become wrinkle. Garment bags normally have to be checked but in most case depend on its size and weight.
There is another type of suitcase called carry-on suitcase, this type is very popular among travelers who travel in short term period. This type is usually soft or semi-soft material suitcase. The size of carry-on suitcase is approximately 22 inches and mostly equipped with roller wheels. By using this type of bag to travel abroad, you may have to check the requirement of the airline because sometime the over-stuff carry-on bags may be too large for overhead compartment.

Suitcases: What Suitcase Fits You?

There are no well-defined criteria, but the right suitcase is one that:
1) Makes you feel comfortable traveling with
2) Will survive the trip and your destination’s environment
3) Will protect its contents from harm and damage
4) Fits your needs, your style, your personality
The first one is something you’ll need to think about if you value your poise, fashion, and how you carry yourself. Do you want to avoid exerting much effort in transporting luggage? Then suitcases with telescopic handles are right for you. Are you the type of person who wants to look formal and classy, without funky “look-at-me!” designs? Then dark, formal suitcases made of rich leather or similar material fits the bill. Some people may call these suitcases “drab” and ordinary, but hey, it’s just simple classy form and function.
Or are you looking for more “fun” suitcases? Most ladies and some men tend to go for more curves, prints, and shades in their luggage — in short, suitcases that are out of the ordinary. And if you’re traveling with kids, you can buy them suitcases that they themselves will be comfortable with — such as luggage that double as toys (kids can even ride on some models!).
Items two and three on our short list revolve around the suitcase’s construction and material. Here are some tips to help you:
1) Do you plan to travel a lot with one suitcase, or are you transporting fragile material? Buy a suitcase with a hard cover.
2) Do you see yourself touring around the destination with your suitcase, for whatever reason (e.g. scouting for good accomodations)? Buy a smaller and lightweight suitcase.
3) Is your destination a rainy one, or are you planning to make the trip during the rain? Choose the suitcase with waterproofing technology.
4) When buying a suitcase with wheels, pick the model with wheels larger than those of other luggage. Larger wheels can absorb a longer time of use and abuse.
5) Go for a suitcase with larger than usual zippers. Larger zippers are easier to handle and more durable than smaller ones.
6) If you’re traveling with a laptop, make sure your suitcase has a built-in compartment for the device, or better yet, buy a separate bag for it. Laptop bags are designed to protect and carry the device better than the usual kinds of luggage.
Just remember, while you might have bought the “right” suitcase, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the “perfect” suitcase. That’s okay — after all, nothing’s perfect in this world. Many suitcase models displayed on the stores are already good, but can be even made better by purchasing suitcase accessories. These accessories both have decorative and practical uses; they can ease the carrying, help in identification, or add security to your suitcases.
