How do I travel with Louis Vuitton luggage on a plane?

Can you answer Kenny’s question about Luggage?:

I have alot of LV luggage and none of it classifies as carry on so it would have to go in the luggage compartment. But first off, I want to make sure that it is handled with care and secondly I want to make sure that no one but myself has access to it because I wouldn’t want someone to leave the airport with my luggage. I’ve never traveled with designer luggage before. Anyone?

Luggage Feedback: why did you buy it? you’re asking for trouble.

Luggage Feedback: Put TSA certified locks on it… as for care, your out of luck.

Luggage Feedback: You Probably Shouldn’t have purchased it if you were afraid of damage. But, first i wouldn’t use the curbside check-in, because it’s just another step of your bag getting thrown around to get damaged; take it to the regular check-in desk. Also, if you can board in the front of the plane, that will help because then you can get down to baggage claims the quickest. Once there, stand as close to the opening as possible so your bag doesn’t travel allong the conveyer belt in front of others who could take it.
Also, tie colored yarn or ribbon to the bag…Anything that makes it unique will make people less likely to run off with it, because it will be obvious if someone calls them out about ownership.
    Good luck!

Luggage Feedback: You don’t have to travel with a Louis Vuitton luggage. Just travel with some cheap luggage so nothing bad will happen. But if you must, then I think the best you can do is just to pray that it will not get lost or someone will steal it. When someone sees LV, then they might go crazy and try to steal it, because it’s expensive. So watch out.

Luggage Feedback: It’s not going to happen. Since 9/11 airports have the right to physically check all luggage. Locks will probably be cut off. & there’s no way to make sure it’s handled with care. Your best bet is to buy inexpensive luggage so you won’t worry.

Luggage Feedback: All luggage is treated equally. And thats bad. I bought a brand new high quality piece of luggage for a trip to Greece. On the way there, one zipper tag was pulled off and on the way back the other was pulled off, rendering it useless for future vacations. The luggage handlers arent going to say “be careful…its Louis Vuitton”. Theyre going to toss it into the cargo with all the nameless black bags. Luggage needs to be DURABLE NOT designer.

Luggage Feedback: You do realise that the leather on Louis Vuitton bags can’t be scratched right, owning ALL those designer bags … one would surely know that?

Oh and by the way, if you’re that desperate to bring the LV bags with you and make sure its safe, upgrade that particular leg to business, that way your bags will be marked ‘priority’ and will come out first on the carousel and thus reducing the chances of theft.. however, this is merely LAST RESORT.

Luggage Feedback: take it to a skycap or go to an agent and slip em a 20bill and ask them to take good care of it.
but once it reaches the ramp crew then it will be treated as all the rest. whatever u do dont ask for a fragile or handle with care sticker. thats asking for damage becuz it’s obvious that everyone wants their bag treated with care.
