How should I pack my bag to fit clothing and items for two people?

Answered By Editor

Instead of folding your clothing the way you normally fold it, you can save space by rolling up each item - military style. For example, begin folding a shirt as you normally would with sleeves and sides folded in, then roll it up tightly from the bottom. Fold pants lengthwise, then roll them up. Tuck rolled-up socks and underwear into shoes and other crevices to save space.

Pack shoes and heavier items such as jackets, bottles, toiletries and electronics on the bottom and sides of your bag. Very delicate or unrollable items like blazers and fancy dresses should be placed flat at the very top of your bag. Leave room in the center for your toiletries in plastic bags. A snug place in between your rolled-up clothing will help prevent squashing or spilling.
