Carry on Luggage - Packing it Right Tips

By Scott Nichols

Have you ever imagined going on a long flight without anything with you? What's worse is that you made sure you would not get bored so you brought things to make you busy, packed them in what you supposed to be your carry on luggage but the airline would not allow you to carry it inside the plane because it is too big. Or what you brought your valuables, placed them in many small bags thinking you could bring them all in with you but it turns out you are allowed to bring in just one bag, regardless of the size. And you will spend your trip worrying if your valuables are all safe. So it's important that you know about the rules and regulations of the airline you are flying with regarding your carry on luggage, especially if you're not a regular flyer. It sure is a big deal.

Usually, passengers are allowed to have just one bag as your carry on luggage, and the rest goes with other passengers' luggage. So if you do not know this and brought many bags in relatively small sizes like shoulder bags, you might need to choose just one of these bags as your carry on luggage. They also just allow a certain size of carry on bag to let in with you to fit in the bag cabin in the passengers' area.

What you put in you bag depends on the time of flight. If you're going on a rather short flight, you'd just probably bring with you important stuff to avoid them from getting broken or lost with other luggage. But if you're going on a long trip, you might also need to bring more onboard like toothbrush, games, pocketbooks, business papers, extra shirts, etc.

So before the flight, make time to check on the rules regarding your carry on luggage. You may either contact someone at the airport or check the airline on the web. You'll have to know this before purchasing the carry on bag you'll use for the trip. Also, be wise on what to bring. Some people tend to bring more than what they need and just add up to the size of the carry on bag. This may be simple but in a way should also be one of the things to be planned.
